President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the inauguration ceremony of the new campus of Nizomiy Tashkent State Pedagogical University in New Tashkent.

The two heads of state planted a tree near the monument to Nizami Ganjavi.

The presidents were briefed on the construction progress of the university complex, its educational infrastructure, and plans for further campus development.

The campus, which is being constructed on an area of 40 hectares, is being developed in two phases. The project envisages educational facilities capable of accommodating a total of 20,000 students, as well as student accommodation with a capacity of 5,000 places.

As part of the first phase, a five-storey academic building with a capacity of 12,000 students and a modern laboratory complex have been constructed.

The heads of state familiarized themselves with the educational and research environment created on the campus, the Information and Resource Center, and a museum exhibition dedicated to the legacy of Nizami Ganjavi.

The museum presents the life and works of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi, his rich spiritual heritage, as well as the centuries-old cultural and literary ties between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

The leaders emphasized that cooperation in the fields of education, science, and culture plays an important role in bringing the two fraternal peoples even closer together and in nurturing the younger generation in the spirit of shared spiritual values.
