Councils

The Scientific Council for awarding academic degrees DSc.03/30.12.2021.Tar.26.03 under the Nizami National University of Pedagogy of Uzbekistan was established in 2021 and conducts dissertation defenses in the following specialties: 07.00.01 – History of Uzbekistan, 07.00.03 – World History, and 07.00.08 – Historiography, Source Studies, and Methods of Historical Research.
The Council includes not only scholars from the republic but also many internationally recognized researchers. Among them are academicians A. Asqarov and D. Yusupova, Doctors of Historical Sciences and Professors D. Alimova, N. Makhkamova, S. Shadmanova, Sh. Ergashev, A. Sabirov, and others.
The Council thoroughly discusses research works that are capable of making a worthy contribution to the development of historical science in our country, and the best of them are recommended for defense. To date, nearly one hundred DSc and PhD dissertations have been reviewed by the Council, and those considered worthy have been recommended for defense in accordance with the requirements of the Higher Attestation Commission.
Currently, the Council is chaired by academician A. Asqarov. The members of the Council consist of leading scholars from the most prominent higher education institutions and research institutes of our country.
